I think Cheeseeggs knows what Tor and "other proxies" are for, I think what he is asking is why might you want to block them.

I think the best answer is sometimes people can abuse proxies to do...let's say..."certain bad things" such as, well for example many times people will abuse them to get around an IP ban on a video game server.

all these.."NON" answers (to this topic and other topics)as to whether we should block or not...are in my opinion...a liability issue. i read what stv said and im thinkin'..block it (tor/proxy). yet tor is to go thru to hide ones IP (i think?)..so im thinkin' in that case allow it...but these guys cannot, or will not answer as to whether we should use a particular list to block or not..up to us to figure it out. yes, this was a convoluted reply...but i know what i mean! and its up to you to figure it out! bottom line is he/they cannot answer "the" question. Y? it is not legal to download copy write material?..or some **** like that? not that anyone here is doing that..just as i would not partake in such illicit activities....sorry, i just have been reading some of the posts/topics and wanted to add my 2 cents..albeit, a bad 2 cents.

Its not a liability issue, it is a how am I supposed to know what you want to block/allow issue.

What I can do is provide you with as much information as possible so you can make an informed decision.

Only you know what you want blocked or allowed.

I suspect you are using a list with an IP needed for you to access the internet.

If its an error in a list authored by I-Blocklist on an issue with the way I-Blocklist distributes lists then I can fix it otherwise I can't help.

it is http://iblocklist.dchubad.com/files/bt_proxy.gz

It happened since the last update of 27 april, and others have exactly the same problems I have. It would be interresting to know which changes were made that last update.

I'd like to ask, is it possible for anti-p2p corps. to monitor transfers via a proxy connection, or will the proxy they're using make them unable to view the rest of the swarm? thanx
