Ranges will begin appearing in the list within the next few days.
This list is available to VIP members;
Those that donate 10USD or more.
Those that contribute in some way at Phoenixlabs, Bluetack, I-Blocklist.
Those that publish a public list.

nope.
VIP members get access to tools for creating different types of lists.
Using those tools to create a list for your own use don't count.
(I am assuming this is what you are thinking of.)
By "Those that publish a public list." I mean one that gets made available on the public list directory for anyone to use.
The basic idea of making certain features and list VIP only is to encourage users to help move the service forward.
I understand that not everyone can donate money so there are many other ways to contribute.
One way to help out that I did not mention here out would be to submit ranges to lists that allow submissions.
(don't submit random ranges because I check them)
NOTE: over 50% of VIP members did not contribute money but they did in other ways.

And I typed the information, The "Create List" button is not click-able

Typically, public lists by third parties are authored independent of the I-Blocklist system, and then I-Blocklist imports them for distribution from here.
I did make your account VIP so you can use the I-Blocklist tools to create the lists you mentioned.
I will work on the code so that they can be made public.

Any lists you would like to create would be great.
This weekend I will be working on a way to feature member created lists (and building out this list of course).
An I-Blocklist forum is certainly a possibility.
In the past with me being a Phoenixlabs admin the forum over there was good enough but as this site grows I think it is a better and better idea.
If I do implement a forum it will be a stripped down version that will share a login system and the like.

It would make the site a little more cleaner. Are you coding in HTML or PHP?

At the moment lists are arranged by list publisher and within publisher they are are grouped by game/isp/country/whatever lists.
I agree that it all looks like a blur and a bit daunting the way it is now.
I do want to stick with keeping lists grouped by publisher but how they are grouped within that is negotiable.
I will try to come up with a solution to make it look cleaner.
I am using a combination of HTML and PHP.
The way it works now is that the list directory is generated based on a DB table with the available lists.

http://iblocklist.com/memberlists.php
Of course all 'member lists' could be promoted to the main list directory if appropriate.
NOTE:
The URL of the page will most likely change.
The page is under active development so will be changing.
The link to the Member Lists page will probably go next to the Lists link in the header menu.

The contest is a good idea and I will start it in the morning.

I think contributors are entitled to some benefit.

The way it works now is that I need to approve a list, then enable VIP for you so you can create the list with I-Blocklist, and then I can make it public.
I am working to improve the way that contributing lists works.
As far as Paypal goes, I have no idea why some claim to be having problems.
If there is a system the problem must be with the card or Paypal and not allot I can do about it.

hopefully i will be able to get I-Blocklist a new server soon.
a few member lists are available here http://iblocklist.com/memberlists.php
features are easy to develop, it is the sticking a front end on them that takes time.
everything needs to be tested and locked down before i can make a feature available, especially a complex one.
NOTE: i see smileys are working

Noticed above on this page under list information - no numbers listed in "Number of ranges" and "Number of IPs." Don't know if it's related. Thanks for your time.

but the create list button is grayed out...
how can i put these lists up? and what might I need to do beyond that to earn VIP?

Actually I managed to throw together a working forum of sorts already.
I am leaning strongly towards tight integration with the rest of the site rather then a full featured forum.
I will add features such as styling and editing threads/comments but I don't see much need for features such as private messaging.
The forum is accessible by anyone however creating threads and commenting is limited to subscribers.
As I add features I will try to open up creating threads and commenting to everyone at least in some limited way.

I think that sounds great! One thing to think about is possibly a secure section of forum that requires login to see and post so "Big Brother" can't see everything we are talking about?
BTW, I donated and can already say that the time saved on downloading list updates is already well worth the $10.
Thank you so much for all of your efforts. I am not a programmer but I do have a lot of technical knowledge and experience with networking. If you can think of anything you think I could help with.....

c)subscribing to thread replies?
I know little of whats involved implementing these features. Thanks for your efforts!

lists can be compressed in a variety of formats or not at all.
you should not be downloading lists and importing them into PG2 because then they cant automatically update.

There are a few advantages to this list over others;
Strictly focused on making available Anti-Infringement related IPs unlike the much broader 3rd party lists.

Changes to this list are live meaning the moment an IP is added or removed you get the changes with an update.
With the Bluetack and other 3rd party lists, when a change is made to a list that change can and often is not available to users for 24 hours or more.
Subscribers also have access to other subscriber lists, list builder, can view the 7 day range and ip counts for third party lists, forum posting access, and of course you are helping support the public/free parts of I-Blocklist.

How safe is the transaction? and is it a monthly donation, or a one time only fee?

I usually just use the lists available through the URL's listed in the program, but I've never added a list manually from a website and have no idea where to begin. If someone could help I'd appreciate it.

You are a subscriber so you could use the list merge feature.

If you are having trouble with websites being blocked then you can just disable HTTP blocking.

Awesome,
I am loading the list right now. Does the donation grant the subscriber IBL URLs indefinitely?
Can I use this URL on my media server, as well as my laptops? Could I update the list daily as long as IBL sends the update packets to the same external IP?
Very impressive response time, does somebody have insomnia? ha

Subscriptions are 6 or 12 months.
Yes you can use the subscription on multiple devices but may not share it with other people.
Yes you can update the lists as often as you like within reasonable limits.

Well... I have a couple questions since I've gotten the infringement list. I'm wondering how can I tell if I have it installed and working properly? My internet service provider (isp) received letters about d/l's that I had done and temporarily disconnected me until we called. I love being able to d/l movies because the theaters are WAY too expsensive and overpriced. How do I know for sure that I'm safe to do so now? I'm new to all of this, but I seriously don't have $250,000 to pay a fine over a stupid movie. Please help me understand and more confident that I can d/l once again.
Thanks,

how much better is this than the other anti infringement you say its "supplementary" - what exactly do you mean by this? what am I buying for $12 a year ?
Is this alot more ips that need to be blocked ? Description:
IPs of Anti-Infringement organizations. which ones ?
you might benefit from describing what you sell for $12 a little better ?
thanks : )

The "Subscribe" page tells you exactly what you get when you become a subscriber.
Yes I say it is supplementary meaning it should be used with other lists.
There is no way to quantify how supplementary it is.

If you want to be 100% safe from anti-infringement organizations then don't infringe.
There are lists that contain their IPs and this list contains additional IPs to help you block anti-infringement organizations.

Thanks for creating this list, I do not know much about this stuff but I know people who recently received letters from various organizations regarding downloading music illegally. I figured it was better to be a subscriber to you guys than let the man come down on me. Being new and not really understanding the technical side of networking I hope I can come to you with questions. Thanks for the great forums so far though. Yogi.

PeerBlock and PeerGuardian2 do the same thing.
PeerBlock has less bugs and runs on the new Windows OSs.
You add the subscriber lists to PeerBlock the same way as you would add any other list.

I am VERY interested in the list you said you were working on.
Is there a way I can get in contact with you about this, and maybe make some suggestions? Like the District attorneys offices of various counties and states. Basically any, and all, government agencies ip addresses at the local, county, state, and federal level. Which I'm sure would be a huge amount of IP addresses. But it would be something that could be added to everyday/week. I would even work on it, but I would have to be taught how to do it.
I don't see a way to communicate with individual members on here, other than this way.

When I-Blocklist first started donating 10USD or more made you a VIP (the equivalent of subscriber today).
I-Blocklist has moved to a subscription system so you subscribe for a fixed length of time and then you need to re-subscribe after that time is finished.

Hi fakhir,
Many thanks for the badly-needed mac instructions for peergusrdian, but, honestly, the English was not clear (also, some of the window views did not match with 1.5.1, but that is minor). If I knew more about the process, I would volunteer to rewrite it in better English so the obviously important info would be more easily understood.
In any case, I think configuring Vuze's filter with a list URL is less trouble than using Peerguardian for Mac. I will subscribe to iblocklist using Paypal so I can add your premium list to my Vuze. James
