APhilosoraptor:

Would it be inappropriate for someone to list a couple common reasons some users choose to block these IPs, without actually providing advice?
I'm super new to this.

@ APhilosoraptor

Probably not going to get an answer from other users.
This is one of the more popular lists but if you don't have a reason to use it then you don't need to.

I am curious too why others would use this list especially for P2P. I figured a lot of college kids probably share files on various p2p networks and bit torrent so if you block all the edu ip addresses you won't be able to file share with college kids using the school's internet.

There is little chance that you will get a reply from another user.

If you don't have a reason to use this list then don't use it.

A list being useful for P2P has no relevance to I-Blocklist's decision to make a list available.

Educational list is primarily meant for people who are on e.g. a university network, and want to prevent the local campus network admins from seeing too much of what they're up to. Most the university websites aren't university there telecommunications in other countries that report the findings for a fee to the Untied States government ... best to have it turned on if you torrent (I/we do not suggest downloading copyright materiel) often or search websites that you might not think are best to be caught on, such as information as to how to "program" -cough- or such other websites that big brother might think are dangerous for people to be on
.
